Remain Calm was an inner desire, a wish to temper my fears with a physical affirmation to make it so. In Southern California there were so many homes with swimming pools. In fact my art studio/gallery was just a few short blocks from the Santa Monica College olympic sized pool, which I frequented. The fires caused weirdly colored skies, and days where the air quality was so bad, public service announcements would urge us to stay indoors unless absolutely emergency reasons.
